Friday - August 20, 2010

Leave Moab at about 2:30 pm with Sancho 1,2, & 3 after one last hike to "Cowboy Jaquezz" with Holland and family. Many mixed feelings about leaving friends and family and many, many memories far behind.

Saturday - August 21, 2010

Arrive in Polson Montana in the evening. Spend the next several days organizing conference with Nikos, Rene and others. 

Wednesday - August 25, 2010

Leave Montana after working on conferecne organization from morning tell night for 31/2 days. Lost cell phone as i was packing to leave. Dosen't bode well as I am about to disappear in the Canadian Wilderness. Enter Banff National Park and site a large black wolf walking across the road shortely after entering park.

Thursday - August 26, 2010

My anniversary. Spending it driving through Banff/Jasper National Park almost a exactly a year after Terry and I drove through the area in 2009 on our way to Homer the first time. Many memories and much beauty all around. I stop in Jasper were Terry and I had an anniversary dinner at the "Fiddle Creek" restaurant after one of our many back-packing trips here back in the early 2000. Stopped outside of Jasper to have anniversary dinner with Sancho 1,2 & 3. Saw large 8 point elk. Very large.

Friday - August 27, 2010

Drove 700 miles from Dawson Creek to Watson Lake Canada. Saw large buffalo and Canada Lynx.

Saturday - August 28, 2010

Reached the Yukon - perhaps my favorite place on earth. Made it to White Horse which is the Capitol of the Yukon. Should be in Alaska by tomorrow!
